Royal weddings are amazing events. We can’t help but wonder who’s on the guest list, what will they wear, the flowers, the crowns, the list goes on and on. One thing that sometimes gets overlooked is the royal jewelry. When you marry a royal, you have access to the best jewelers and some of the most amazing heirlooms you could even imagine. But what about the engagement ring? We have compiled a list of some of the engagement ring styles that are inspired by royal engagements.

Meghan Markle
When Prince Harry proposed to Meghan Markle everyone was excited to see the engagement ring. Prince Harry went traditional opting for a classic three stone diamond look set in yellow gold. The center diamond is a large cushion cut diamond from Botswana, and it is flanked by two round brilliant cut diamonds from Princess Diana’s personal collection.

Kate Middleton
Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with Princess Diana’s original engagement ring. This was his way of making sure that his mother was present on their wedding day. Kate Middleton’s ring is a 12ct oval sapphires surrounded by 14 round brilliant cut diamonds and set in 18kt white gold.

Queen Elizabeth II
Prince Phillip turned to his mother for advice when designing the ring he would propose with. A stunning three carat center diamond set in platinum, he used diamonds from his mother, Princess Andrew of Greece’s tiara for the accent diamonds.

Princess Margaret
Anthony Armstong Jones sought inspiration from Princess Margaret’s maiden name of Rose. He chose a ruby gemstone for the center and surrounded it with brilliant white diamonds to represent the petals of the flower.
